Azure Heights Apartments
3102 Barney Road, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49004
In operation since 2005, Azure Heights includes 10 one-bedroom apartments for persons with a disability. The single-story units are fully-accessible and the premises feature ample parking and on-site community room. In addition, 24-hour services for residents are provided by Community Mental Health.
Douglas Apartments
1211 Douglas Avenue, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49007
Douglas Apartments include 20 units for residents and a manager’s apartment. In 1993, this three-story 1920s building was rehabbed to create the fully-accessible units that provide housing for persons with a disability. The premises include a community room, parking, and surrounding landscaping.
Gladys Street Apartments
420 Gladys, Portage, Michigan 49002
Gladys Street Apartments include 10 one-bedroom units for people with a disability who are living and working independently in the community. An on-site manager and 24-hour maintenance service are part of the network of support provided in this building.
Heather Gardens
2400 St. Albans Way, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49048
Originally developed as New Horizon Village Cooperative in 1972, Heather Gardens includes 63 apartments and townhomes for residents with low incomes as well as 16 market rate units. This mixed-income community is currently undergoing a major renovation. Once complete, the newly remodeled units will range in size from one-bedroom apartments to four-bedroom townhomes. On the premises, residents have access to a playground, athletic fields and a basketball court, tennis courts, a swimming pool and a Neighborhood Network Center. In 2009, the center received Model Center classification from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Interfaith Homes
1037 Interfaith Boulevard, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49007
Interfaith Homes was established in 1969 and provides 200 apartments for low-income families and senior citizens. The premises feature one- and two-bedroom apartments and three- and four-bedroom town homes. Outdoor basketball courts and playgrounds are available on the premises. A Neighborhood Network Center provides residents with access to computers, a workstation for local public safety, and space for programming to meet the needs and interests of the community. In 2008, the Interfaith Homes Neighborhood Network Center was the first center in Michigan to be awarded Model Center Classification by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Neighborhood Apartments

Neighborhood Apartments include 44 apartments in eight different locations on the east side of Kalamazoo. Established in 1969, these one- and two-bedroom apartments are homes to adults and seniors with low incomes.
New Village Park New Village Park
2400 St. Albans Way, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49048
Constructed in 1972 as part of a unique HUD initiative in modular housing, New Village Park represents the preservation and comprehensive rehabilitation of 152 units of family housing with spacious floor plans, central air-conditioning, and full basements. The site is located on a leafy 18-acre campus with extensive open space, and will include a swimming pool and playground, a brand-new community garden, and a Neighborhood Network Center that offers job training, computer classes and exercise programs for community residents.
Portage Pines
7968 Kenmure Drive, Portage, Michigan 49024
Portage Pines was established in 1988 and provides 27 one-bedroom apartments for seniors with low incomes and adults with a disability. Each unit has a washer and dryer, and the property offers on-site management, a community room and a program of monthly activities.
